Using current version of VistaChecking an ISO image of 507 Mb. FSUM worked easily!
I was looking for a program, and still am, that would find the differences between files on a CD and what the operational files on the HD were. I found FSUM wasn\'t the solution. At least not the way I wanted. I tried \"winmerge\", which made the search even more of a \"needle\" in the pile. So I have to see if my problem is related to \"uncompliant\" files obtained after the initial install.

A very nice program Despite not having a gui this is pretty easy to use command line program.I found it to be very fast and efficient but then again I only used it to chech the crc from some files I downloaded not to create a crc list.
fsum review nothing bad about the app. i just dl'd before i knew how to use it. but i do think it could use a bit of revision to make it a god like open source product.I would really place more emphasis on the help menu. kinda make a general walk thru as best u can.

It can't check md5sum for files. Only for directories. I discovered this only after I installed the software. Maybe I didn't RTFM...

I tried it, it seems to work, although I didn't get any results. Not worth the money though, there are free tools out there that can do the same.

 Confusing The interface is confusing off the bat. I prefer the MD5Summer interface. Less options, simpler. Maybe use an "Advanced" button for all those options of recursive check and all.
One little thing I've been through at least 7 other checksum programs that all crashed trying to checksum a .iso file I have for the latest SkyOS beta. Every other file it works fine on, but as it tries to check the sum of the iso, it stops responding, and appears to have crashed. If there was a way to add something to show progress and activity, something that would let me know this program is still running, that would be awesome. Overall, an excellent program, useful for keeping track of file corruption, both on disk and during file transfers. Very useful, especially with ...

 I wanted to check one particular download, but could not load a file or a folder to check. Instructions were not clear.
At last I found a working sfvchecker for Vista on top of all I can check my entire computer all harddrives and not even a single crash :) only thing I am a little unhappy with is the fact that it's not easy to hide files that have been checked as good(easier to see which are not then however at least i can easly sort the once that are not ok so I can fix the list of broken files quite fast).Thanks for a great program and if it wasn't for the difficulty in hidding all good files in 1 ...
Perfect, Simple This program does exactly what it's supposed to do, no more and no less. In the days of overly invasive apps (Norton, Mcafee...) it is refreshing to see an application just do its job and not try to park anything in resident memory, startup, or involve itself in any number of other jobs completely unrelated to its own. Simple, small and very effective, SFVManager is a permanent addition or me.
Great software This is the best sfv file extractor. Very easy to use, and best of all, it's free.

Best one for calculating SHA1 hash and MD5 I've got a problem with Microsoft tool FCIV for calculating SHA hash, because it doesn't include any help available. Notes in Microsoft KB don't give essential information.And your software do it correctly with appropriate hints. BTW, I find transfer speed information very interesting for user.Thank you a lot.
